Definition: When something bad were to happen
Example: If an airplane is on time its not news, but if it crashes it is.
Criteria 2: Significance
Definition: Important Events
Example:War, Science discoveries
Criteria 3: Timeliness
Definition:Whats happening right now
Example:War
Criteria 4: Proximity
Definition:nearby events that happened
Example:Abestos problem in the local school
Criteria 5: Prominence
Definition:Well known people, businesses, and buildings are in the news
Example: If a movie star got arrested at the store
Criteria 6: Human interest
Definition:Stories about ordinary people or animals.
Example:Pastor who owns a walk in for troubled teens.
2. On page 23 it discusses the differences between print journalism and broadcast journlism. Please describe 3 ways they are different and explain. They are different because print journalism you can read what you want, broadast shows you the news. Also broadcast journalism is more effective because it can come from different ways, unlike print you can go online or the newspaper. Broadcast journalism is usually more broad and short, but print has more details of the story that happened.
